Restoration of period villa

Dublin 6

DMVF were approached by the owners of the semi-detached Victorian villa to undertake a full restoration and extension of the original building. The original building was in terribly poor condition when the current owners purchased it. Although much of the masonry elements of the original structure remained intact, all timber elements of the structure were replaced along with plaster cornicing & details. Traditional materials were used throughout the original house. New sliding sash windows were provided to the front elevation as the original windows had been replaced with an unsuitable alternative at some stage in the past. The fan light above the door was completely restored. The finished house retains all of the special features that were retained from the original Victorian house.
