This four storey commercial property is located in Parnell Square. The square is one of the five remaining Georgian squares of Dublin. Before work commenced, the building was in significant disrepair but retained mainly original features. We were asked by the client to refurbish the building and to integrate modern mechanical and electrical systems throughout whilst remaining sympathetic to the original fabric, both externally and internally. We removed much of the 1960s and 1970s ‘add ons’ throughout; we carefully integrated a new heating and electrical system within the original structure, being careful not to disturb the elaborate cornices and decorative plaster surrounds throughout. The building is now a superb example of fully refurbished late-Georgian architecture within a modern day city centre.
