Our clients were extremely conscious of the environment and energy efficiency so various measures were researched and then introduced into this project. We used materials such as external insulation, wood fibre insulating boards and intelligent breather membranes. In addition, we incorporated systems such as demand control ventilation, an intelligent heating system and solar panels in order to achieve a well-insulated, air-tight and intelligent building envelope.
These methods did not compromise the spaces inside. Natural light fills the family rooms and living spaces which open up onto a south facing garden. A large sliding door separates the living room from the family room which gives great flexibility. We converted the large attic space into a spacious bedroom and separate home office.
