DMVF Architects were delighted to work on this beautiful early 20th century detached red brick house. Our client’s brief was to undertake a full remodel, two storey extension and attic conversion to create a bright, light-filled and contemporary family home.
In order to achieve our client’s goal, we designed a large single-story extension to the rear of the property, incorporating exquisite floor to ceiling, slimline glazed windows to open up and brighten the room. The south-west orientation of the extension allows the natural light from the garden to fill and luminate the space further. The interior consists of an open plan kitchen, dining and living space with a dramatic, four-metre-long island forming the linear centerpiece of the kitchen. We used a neutral palette throughout the interior for a polished and contemporary finish.
