Rosslare, Co. Wexford
This project involved the extension and remodelling of a mid-century detached bungalow which was primarily used as holiday home. Although relatively modern (build mid-sixties), this bungalow had a severe damp problem throughout. The house was in a state of disrepair and the layout was also somewhat out-dated. The proposals for this house were to remodel the interior to provide two family bathrooms, five bedrooms, a utility area and an open plan living, dining, kitchen area. All of this was contained within the existing house. An extension was built which contained a garden shed, patio fireplace and a glass canopy over part of the south west facing patio area. Internally we dealt with the damp problem and provided a new under floor heating system throughout. This house also underwent a full eco re-fit and benefited from grant aid of €3950.
