“We hired DMVF Architects to design an extension for a bungalow we bought which was in a pretty poor state – typical of many of the bungalows built in the early 70s with lots of rooms, corridors and wasted space. We wanted an open-plan contemporary home that was suitable for the growing needs of a young family. DMVF immediately identified with our brief (which was not very detailed!) and designed a scheme which was bold and daring but yet ticked all our boxes. We loved the design and were prepared for the challenges that lay ahead in trying to secure planning permission for a contemporary project in Co. Meath. John and the team were experts in this process and right from the start we had confidence that we would eventually get the home of our dreams. The construction process also went smoothly (despite all the negative stories we hear!) as DMVF and the builders had an excellent rapport and they project managed the build on time and within budget. We love living in our new house and it has made life so much easier as it has been completely designed around the way we want to live. DMVF are a vibrant and creative team – their approach is professional, thorough and re-assuring – they understand and listen to their clients and never try to impose their vision, but suggest ideas and concepts in a way that inspires rather than dictates. I would highly recommend them. “

“The design and budget, achieved all I wanted plus more and everyone who has seen it complements the clever use of both space and light. Whilst not a grand design in size; it is the use of limited space (25 sq. meters), the introduction of light and the retention of the architectural integrity of what was a derelict 1830’3 fisherman’s cottage that make this project special. I believe that projects such as this help ensure we retain the diverse architecture of our country”.
“Tasked with the complete renovation of a large seaside 1960s holiday property, and with no prior experience of property renovation I found myself in need of expert advice. The house suffered from a litany of problems dating back to the original build, which needed immmediate remedy, and also required an internal reconfiguration to make it more suitable for modern living. I hired DMVF Architects to oversee the project from design and planning permission through to the completion of the building works. I worked closely with DMVF for 6 months on the project, and found their advice on every element – from structural considerations to interior design decisions – invaluable. The project was completed on time, and on budget, and far exceeded the expectations of my family for whom I oversaw the project. The core issues such as chronic damp have been cured, and the house enjoys a new lease of life as the perfect holiday home. I have no hesitation in recommending DMVF Architects”.
“DMVF were the architects for the extension to our three bed. When our third child arrived the house was at bursting but we had always planned on extending. I think making the actual decision and whether to do it ourselves was actually the hardest part. We read lots of advice on the internet about project managing the build yourselves etc and we were very unsure what to do. DMVF were recommended to us by a friend who had a really super remodel done by them. The process was pretty easy from there on in, actually. One of the directors in DMVF came out and explained the whole thing and then came back a couple of weeks later with drawings. The design itself was exactly what we wanted – sleek and modern with a really cool kitchen diner, a room for the kids and much needed chill out space. DMVF “encouraged” us to have some really practical features – like great storage and plugs and light switches where you need them (even if you didn’t know you’d need them there!) and places to put coats- all of which are really small but make a huge difference to how liveable the place is. They came with us and chatted to the neighbours and really put them at ease which helped us get planning straight away”
