One of Dublin’s great terraced houses on Parnell Square, Ireland’s first Georgian Square, was salvaged from degradation and meticulously restored by DMVF Architects for the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO). Existing volumes to the rear were reimagined by inserting a contemporary intervention to meet the clients brief of retaining the existing office floor area whilst allowing for careful integration of modern services and ancillary spaces. A glass link intercepts this intervention allowing the rear facade to be expressed whilst complementing the materiality, defining eras.
